The Government Actuary's Department is a unique organisation - a government department and yet an actuarial consulting firm operating on commercial lines. Providing consultancy advice to some of the largest pension schemes in the UK, our work is crucial to the welfare of millions of people.

There are actuaries in public sector roles in many countries, but nowhere else is there such a strong concentration of actuarial talent within a government department, and nowhere else does the Government Actuary advise on such a comprehensive range of topics.
