Maintenance Technician

Location: Hatfield

Hours: 42 hours per week

Salary: Dependant on experience

Due to continued growth we now have an opening for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for undertaking Engineering 1st response to fault conditions, reactive and planned engineering maintenance activities and contribute to improvement works at the warehouse (CFC). The role is shift based to support the 24/7 operation of the CFC.

Major responsibilities include the effective & safe 1st response to Engineering MHE fault conditions throughout the CFC, measured on # of Jams and Jam duration, completion of both planned and reactive maintenance works in a safe and effective manner, meeting and supporting of agreed engineering KPIs (mean time to failure and equipment availability). In addition you will be driving and supporting change for MHE equipment and process improvement.

In addition to the above you will perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties of equipment and supervise external contractors as well as work closely with others within the team to assist in development and transfer of knowledge. and work closely with operational teams to ensure equipment availability and support maintenance engineers in development of best process. You will also be involved in some projects as required.

The successful applicant will be self motivated, consistent and able to work at pace, have a recognised Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering training/background, be a good communicator with good interpersonal skills and be able to analyse and impart knowledge. You will have a good organisational ability and be able to prioritise.

All our Maintenance Technicians have varying ability, competence and experience levels, therefore expected duties will be in line with competence, training and experience and will be set by the Engineering Team leader based on assessment of these competencies. Maintenance technicians must work safely within the limits of their competence and experience.
